Leica Postage Stamp
Features...
- A wonderful and rare Leica collectible for philatelists and/or leicaphiles
- Oskar Barnack's Leica
- "First successful commercial 35 mm camera"
- Despite the fact Leica cameras have been around since the early 1930's, only three times have they ever appeared on a postal stamp which makes those few images highly sought after. One stamp that is fairly well known is a 1986 British one commemorating the 60th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II and shows her holding a Leica. There exists another stamp with an image of a young woman also holding a Leica (origin unknown). The camera has also appeared in postage meter marks from Germany but no other "lick-and-stick" stamps.
- Millennium 2000
- Federated States of Micronesia
- Approx. 1-1/4" x 1-5/8" (30mm x 40mm)
